The Pompadour Fade

One of the hardest parts about moving to a new city, which I did in January of 2018, is finding the right stylist. It’s one of the most dreaded things for me, ranking worse than moving boxes or furnishing a place.

For me, it took until last Wednesday to finally find the right salon and the right hair stylist at Atma Beauty. This place has such an awesome vibe right as you walk in. I’ve been shopping at the Publix next door for a year and a half and didn’t even know it was there (it’s almost too obvious that you miss it — if that makes sense).

My stylist, Ivonne, finally gave me the cut I’ve always wanted - the pompadour fade. When I worked in broadcast news, this would have been a bit too intense, at least for the conservative market I was a morning anchor in (‘ehem, Southwest Florida).

Ivonne spent an hour and a half cutting and styling my hair in the right way to get everything to sit easily and as it should. I was seriously impressed with the scope of service from everyone there, given the stereotype around Miami service.

And the photoshoot area they have set up is pretty neat, too.
