Award-winning journalist for NBC News

Lucas Seiler began his career in journalism, having served as an anchor/reporter for NBC News affiliates and a writer for several Chicago TV stations.

His journalism work earned him Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards, stemming from his investigative reporting on a Florida correctional institution covering up a homicide which led to the firing of 10 officers — and another story about a lightning strike that led to several Florida communities installing and updating new life-saving lightning detection technology. Prior to his reporting in Florida, Lucas earned the title of Best News Reporter and Best Photographer in the Intermountain West United States during his time at Intermountain West Communications Company.

Having served in various roles during his 7 years in news — as an anchor, reporter, two bureau chiefs, producer and even weather forecaster — Lucas has covered and traveled with presidential campaigns and exposed government fraud and waste that resulted in legislative change. Many of his stories were featured on NBC Nightly News and cited in legal publications like Nova Law Review.
